First Buyers in Vermilion Hill

Tell us a little bit about your family.

We are a family of 4! Our second just arrived.

How did you hear about Vermilion Hill?

We recently purchased a home in another nearby community, and when Vermilion Hill opened, we ventured over.

What made you choose Vermilion Hill over another community?

We enjoy having a Southwest address and love being only minutes away from Fish Creek Park. The community is higher up then other communities around, which provides a beautiful view of Calgary. We also like that when it’s finished, the community will be a smaller, more secluded community.

What about the community excites you?

The views. We’re excited to enjoy the beautiful views from our backyard. We’re also excited to be so close to fish creek park, as we enjoy taking the dog and kids for walks there.

Tell us more about the home you are building.

Our home is 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bath, and 2,300 square feet. It will include a fully developed walkout basement with a legal suit. We were able to lock down an amazing lot that backs up right on the pond and offers unobstructed views of the city. We are most excited to just sit and enjoy the view from our back deck. Fish Creek Park will look beautiful in the summer and fall.

What home customizations did you make for your family?

We got a walkout lot so the kids can enjoy the developed basement that opens up to the backyard. We got lots of kitchen upgrades to make our dream kitchen a reality. We changed the layout of the top floor to have the bonus room closer to the centre of the house in order to have a more unified living space. Railings on the stairway and bonus area will also give it more of a lofty mid-century feel. And lots of extra lighting for wall art to help enhance the space! We can’t wait to move in Spring of 2024.

How had your experience been with your builder?

The experience has been great so far, the sales team and interior design staff have been super helpful and patient as we navigate all the small details of building a home. They have been awesome at answering any questions and helping us through the decision process.

Do you work nearby or from home?

We work away from home, but the closeness to Tsuut’ina Trail/Stoney Trail (ring road) does make the commute nice and easy.

Is there anything else we should know about your experience in the community/with your builder that you would like to share?

Nothing specific, just that we are so happy with your decision to build our forever home in Vermilion Hill and are excited to get to watch the community grow.
